On Friday night, the Nash Central Bulldogs took the field of Smithfield-Selma High School. The Bulldogs were riding a twenty-five game losing streak, and Nash Central was ready to turn the page.

The Bulldogs were all business on Friday night. Nash Central started the game with an offensive explosion, holding a 26-0 lead at one point in the first half. However, Smithfield-Selma would score, cutting Nash Central’s lead to 26-7.

In the second half. the Bulldogs would score another touchdown and kick another field goal to put 36 points up on the board. Smithfield-Selma also had a bit of a offensive streak, scoring two touchdowns. However, the Bulldog defense would hold up, and Nash Central was victorious by a score of 36-21.

Nash Central’s first win since the 2013 season will certainly be one that Bulldogs will keep in their hearts forever. This win could definitely serve well for Nash Central. It can function as an energy and confidence boaster for the players, and this win will hopefully set the tone for the Bulldogs as they look to have even more success in the future.

With his first win as Nash Central’s head coach under his belt, Coach Chris Lee will guide the Bulldogs, who are now 1-1 on the season, to hopefully another win next week on the road against North Johnston.
