NC Wesleyan College’s Baseball Diamond

After an outstanding high school career, Nash Central senior Noah Shrock has decided to continue his education and baseball career at North Carolina Wesleyan College as he signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Battling Bishops baseball program on Wednesday, May 25th.

In respect to his decision to attend NC Weselyan College, which is located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Shrock says “NC Wesleyan College and Methodist University were the only schools that had interest in me, and Wesleyan stood out to me because my previous coach, coach Guzzo, was a very successful coach at Wesleyan and that influenced my decision.”

Also, in terms of high school career, Shrock’s Nash Central baseball career has been filled with several memorable moments, and one of his best earliest memories would have to be winning the Big East conference title as a freshman member of the JV baseball team. Aditionally, Shrock considers receiving his varsity call-up during his sophomore year to be a great memory that stands out to him.

Besides this, Shrock also feels that his junior year was quite memorable as he didn’t a commit a single error at first base during the entire season, and this is surely an impressive accomplishment.

However, above all, Shrock feels that his walk-off homerun to beat Fike High School 3-1 in the Big East conference tournament just a few weeks ago is his most memorable moment of his Nash Central baseball career, and this was a fitting way for Shrock to conclude such an accomplished high school career.

On top of this, Shrock also illustrated how important education is in his life when he said “Also, staying on top of my school work and having good grades all four years to earn a scholarship to Weselyan has been something I have always kept at the forefront while playing baseball.”

With this being said, Shrock, who garnered Big East All-Conference honors this past season, has definitely achieved tremendous success while at Nash Central, and he has had several guiding and influential role models in his life that have helped supported him during his career, and he undoubtely appreciates and is thankful for all the support that he has received.

In regards to this, Shrock says “Coach Guzzo, Coach Langley, and my dad are my biggest role models. They have taught me so much information about baseball that I’m glad I know. They just overall helped me with everything.”

Now, with his Nash Central baseball career over, Shrock, who will major in Excercise Science at NC Wesleyan, will look to continue to have success athletically and academically at the college level, and, in respect to his goals at Wesleyan, Shrock says “My goals at Wesleyan are to keep my good grades coming and for myself to earn some playing time with the baseball team.”

Simply, Noah Shrock has been a key member of Nash Central’s baseball program for the last few years, and, in the years to come, he will absolutely be able to contribute much to the academic and athletic prosperity of North Carolina Wesleyan College.
