Bulldogs Have Success At Louisburg College

Nash Central High School has a long and storied tradition of sending its finest athletes on to play at the collegiate level, and three particular former Bulldogs have represented Nash Central well during the fall season at Louisburg College.

Abigail Ross, who graduated from Nash Central in 2014, was an All-Area goal keeper during her senior season with the Bulldogs, and she has continued to have success at the next level as well. In the net, Ross has helped Louisburg College allow just 1.28 goals per game in 2015. With the exceptional defensive play of Ross, the Louisburg College Hurricanes were able to achieve an 11-6 record with a 10-4 conference mark this fall. Essentially, Ross has certainly accomplished much at Louisburg College, and she is a shinning example of the type of the caliber of talent that Nash Central has been able to produce in the recent years.

Brian Williams, who is a sophomore at Louisburg College, also had tremendous success this fall season. The 2014 Nash Central graduate, who was an All-Area selection while at Nash Central High School, has been a key member of Louisburg College’s men’s cross country team, and he registered some of his fastest times this fall. Williams will look to continue to improve and build off of this success as he will also run track for Louisburg College this upcoming spring.

Natalie Manning, who earned All-Area honors with the Bulldogs during her senior track & field season, has also been a top runner for Louisburg College. In her freshman season, Manning had an amazing spring track season, and she was the #1 finisher at last year’s national championship, where she ran the metric mile in just four minutes and fifty-eight minutes. This fall, Manning helped lead the Louisburg College Hurricanes to a great showing in the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Saturday, November 14th, where the Hurricanes finished 18th overall. With the fall season over, Manning will now look forward to having an excellent track season this spring.

All in all, Nash Central High School certainly boasts a bevy of athletic talent, and Nash Central has unquestionably been a hot bed of talent for Louisburg College.
