Nash Central’s boys and girls varsity and JV basketball teams have all reached the championship stage of the Nash County Holiday Basketball Tournament.

The JV girls will compete in the first championship game on Wednesday, December 16th at 6:30 P.M. at Southern Nash High School. In this particular championship match-up, the Lady Bulldogs will be facing off against the Lady Gryphons, and a win would certainly be a major plus to Nash Central’s program.

Nash Central JV boys will then take the court at 5:15 P.M. on Thursday, December 17th at Southern Nash High School to face Rocky Mount’s JV boys team. The Bulldogs  JV boys team has had a great start to the season, and winning this match-up would further validate this.

After the JV boys contest is over on Thursday, Nash Central’s varsity girls team will take on Rocky Mount in the hopes of capturing the championship at 6:30 P.M.. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Southern Nash in a dominating 62-12 victory in order to make it to the championship contest, and the 7-0 Lady Bulldogs will certainly look forward to claiming victory over Rocky Mount. Rebecca Speight, Myia Spivey, Kayalin Mitchell and Robbi Allen have all be pivotal to Nash Central’s 7-0 start, and they will definitely need to be productive if the Bulldogs want to walk away victorious on Thursday evening.

The varsity boys team will also look forward to winning the Nash County Holiday Basketball Tournament. After a last-second 55-52 victory over Southern Nash on Tuesday, December 15th, the Bulldogs have reached the championship game, and the Bulldogs, who have been led by Josh Mullins, Montre Cash, and Elijah Cole, will look to take home the championship on Thursday night at 8:00 P.M.

In short, it is a tremendous achievement for all four of Nash Central’s basketball teams to reach the championship game on the Nash County Championship Tournament, and it would certainly be a huge accomplishment for the Bulldogs to have a clean sweep of championship.
