Nash Central’s girls track team had a tremendous regular season, and the Lady Bulldogs clearly carried this over to the 3A state championship meet this past Friday in Winston-Salem as Nash Central head coach Juan Jackson helped guide the Lady Bulldogs to a seventh overall finish.
Particularly, the 4×400 relay team, which is anchored by T’keyah Macklin,Carisha Leonard, Kiera Ausby, and Teona Hill, was outstanding, and this special team was crowned as the 3A state champions in this event. Also, this unit didn’t just squeak by with a victory as the Lady Bulldogs set a school and meet record with a winning time of 4:09.57.
In addition, the 4×200 meter relay team was spectacular as Miya Spivey, T’keyah Macklin, Kiera Ausby, andTeona Hill placed fourth in the event. Nash Central’s 4×800 relay, consisting off Carisha Leonard, Anaiya Harris, Cassidy Lee, and Teona Hill, was also first-rate, finishing in seventh place
Individually, Teona Hill placed fourth in the 300 meter dash while Miya Spivey placed eighth in the High Jump.
The Lady Bulldogs will look to win another state championship this spring so certainly come out to support your 3A state champions in the coming months, and the Lady Bulldogs will also be able to showcase their talents on their new track course.
