In November, Nash Central head coach Terri Cash really didn’t know what to expect from her team, but as soon as the season rolled around, Cash knew that this team was destined for greatness.

However, on Saturday night, the Lady Bulldogs came up just a bit short in their third round matchup against Northern Guildford, falling 57-51 in overtime. Despite the loss, Nash Central definitely has nothing to be ashamed of, and the Lady Bulldogs should feel nothing less than immense pride. Achieving a 22-5 record with a 9-1 record in league play is an exceptionally difficult task, and the Lady Bulldogs should undeniably be respected and commended for their efforts this season.

In regards to the season, head coach Terri Cash clearly has uplifting words to describe her team, and the pride she held while coaching the Lady Bulldogs this season was also expressed as she said “I was very pleased with this team. I felt like they worked hard to reach their goals.  The girls were receptive to what we were trying to accomplish. We met two goals that we had set this season. I feel like the girl’s grew as both players and young women.

As for the team, Nash Central seniors, Rebecca Speight, Caresha Leonard, Anaiya Harris, and Kathryn Wilkins were pivotal to Nash Central’s success, and these four talented seniors were definitely heavy contributors throughout their Nash Central careers.

In respect to the future of the Lady Bulldogs, and while Nash Central will be losing a great deal of talent due to graduation, the Lady Bulldogs should have no reason to worry since Nash Central will return leading scorers Robbi Allen (14.6 PPG) Michaela Helms (11.9 PPG), Myia Spivey (8.6 PPG), and Kayalin Mitchell (6.3 PPG) this fall as the Lady Bulldogs will look surpass what they were able to achieve this season.
